D\u00e9marche Artistique<\/b><\/h3>\n

Ma pratique combine une cr\u00e9ation intuitive et une recherche sur les histoires culturelles, o\u00f9 l\u2019alchimie de l\u2019argile refl\u00e8te ma propre transformation. En travaillant avec ce mat\u00e9riau, je d\u00e9couvre des parall\u00e8les entre sa m\u00e9tamorphose et les changements d\u2019identit\u00e9 et de sens qui fa\u00e7onnent ma vie personnelle et cr\u00e9ative. En r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tant des artefacts arch\u00e9ologiques, que je consid\u00e8re comme des r\u00e9ceptacles de m\u00e9moire et de changement, j\u2019explore les liens entre l\u2019histoire et le pr\u00e9sent, le personnel et le collectif, l\u2019inconnu et le connu. Dans ce processus alchimique, de nouvelles perspectives \u00e9mergent souvent\u2014que ce soit pendant la cr\u00e9ation ou \u00e0 travers l\u2019installation, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant des couches de l\u2019inconscient.<\/p>\n

Une partie importante de ma pratique est anim\u00e9e par ma passion pour les artefacts, l\u2019histoire et l\u2019arch\u00e9ologie, \u00e0 travers laquelle je confronte les contrastes entre l\u2019h\u00e9ritage persan et sa distorsion dans un cadre occidentalo-centr\u00e9. Naviguer entre la cosmologie persane et un r\u00e9cit global qui efface souvent les histoires non occidentales m\u2019a amen\u00e9e \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un espace imaginaire qui relie ces mondes distincts. Dans cette r\u00e9alit\u00e9 hybride, j\u2019explore les tensions de l\u2019identit\u00e9, cherchant \u00e0 m\u2019ancrer l\u00e0 o\u00f9 diff\u00e9rentes cosmologies se croisent et fa\u00e7onnent \u00e0 la fois mon parcours personnel et artistique.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Artistic Approach<\/b><\/h3>

My practice blends intuitive creation with research into cultural histories, where the alchemy of clay mirrors my own transformation. As I work with the material, I find parallels between its metamorphosis and the shifts in identity and meaning that shape my personal and creative life. By remaking archaeological artifacts, which I view as vessels of memory and change, I explore the connections between history and the present, the personal and collective, the known and unknown. In this alchemical process, new insights often surface\u2014whether during creation or through installation, revealing layers of the unconscious.<\/span><\/p>

A significant part of my practice is driven by my passion for artifacts, history, and archaeology, through which I confront the contrasts between Persian heritage and its distortion within a Western-centric framework. Navigating between Persian cosmology and a global narrative that often erases non-Western histories has led me to create an imaginary space that bridges these distinct worlds. In this hybrid reality, I explore the tensions of identity, seeking to ground where different cosmologies intersect and shape both my personal and artistic journey.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Biographie<\/span><\/h3>

Reihan Ebrahimi est une artiste c\u00e9ramiste n\u00e9e en Iran, qui partage actuellement son temps entre Tiohti\u00e1:ke\/Montr\u00e9al et T\u00e9h\u00e9ran. Apr\u00e8s son arriv\u00e9e au Canada en 2015, elle a obtenu un baccalaur\u00e9at en beaux-arts (BFA) en c\u00e9ramique de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Concordia en 2020. Sa pratique est profond\u00e9ment influenc\u00e9e par l\u2019intersection entre r\u00e9cits personnels et collectifs, alliant cr\u00e9ation intuitive et recherche sur les histoires culturelles.<\/p>

Le travail de Reihan a \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al et \u00e0 T\u00e9h\u00e9ran, et elle a re\u00e7u plusieurs subventions, notamment du Conseil des arts du Canada et du Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec. En 2022, elle a remport\u00e9 la bourse Helene Zucker Seeman de la NCECA pour le commissariat. Biography<\/span><\/h3>

Reihan Ebrahimi is an Iranian-born ceramic artist, currently dividing her time between Tiohti\u00e1\/Montreal and Tehran. After moving to Canada in 2015, she earned her BFA in ceramics from Concordia University in 2020. Her practice is deeply informed by the intersection of personal and collective narratives, blending intuitive creation with research into cultural histories.<\/p>

Reihan\u2019s work has been showcased in Montreal and Tehran, and she has received several grants, including from the Canada Council for the Arts and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec. In 2022, she was awarded the NCECA Helene Zucker Seeman Curatorial Fellowship.
